We are staying the Best Western at Dam Square. What is the easiest and most economic way to get to our hotel from the airport.

Pam, Take the train from Schipol to Amsterdam Centraal. Note: buy the ticket from the ticket windows. I had trouble with my American ATM card & credit card. Once at Centraal Station, if you are packing light, it's only about a 10-15 min. walk to Dam Square, straight down Damrak. You can also take one of the trams in front of Centraal Station. For tickets & routes, you can purchase your ticket or transportation pass at the GVB Transit office located across from Centraal Station.

hi again, i forgot to add. if youre looking for a map of AMS, go across the street to the TI office to the left. they have some now in vending machines. i bought a couple since my first one fell apart from so much use. you an also buy your tram pass there too. happy trails.
