transportation from airport in Venice

How practical is it to take the Vaporetta from the airport into Venice? Our hotel is in the Castello district, not far from St. Marks, and on the canal. Also, the info names one piece of luggage. Is there a charge for an extra piece, and do they assist with luggage?

The water taxi from the Venice airport will take you right to the dock near the foot of St Mark's. If your hotel is close you can walk from the dock. If not take the vaporetta to the nearest stop. Vaporetta leave from the adjoinng dock.
