Flying to Ireland from Boston, MA, in September. Want to fly with carry-on bag only. Aer Lingus rule is carry-on must weigh no more than 13 pounds. My carry-on packed weighs 20 pounds. Will Aer Lingus let this go as carry-on anyway or will they require the bag to be checked?
They will most likely make you check it. And if I'm not mistaken, Aer Lingus now charges to check bags anyway.
I don't know if they'll make you check it or not, but I think they do allow you a personal item. So if you have a really heavy item like a camera or something, you could carry it personally to lighten your bag until you're waiting to board. We're flying Aer Lingus in October, and I'm hoping this will work!
