Bruges to Agen Area. Hi there Wonder if anyone can help us. We need to get from Bruges, Belgium to the Aquitaine area of France - - the town is Damazan and the nearest train station is Aiguillar. It is looking very complicated and expensive. Belgium rail have not responded to my enquiries. Was reading previous peoples posts. We would rent a car, but once we reach Auiguillar we are taking a barge, Can anyone tell us which route to take ? And whether we should book in advance? Bruges to Brussels or Antwerp, then Lille Flanders? then Bordeux? Help!!!
Thanks so much for any suggestions, Merci!

I would price flights from either Amsterdam or Brussels to either Bordeaux or Toulouse. Compare that to your other options and see what you think.

I believe the rail station town you are going to is Aiguillon. The German Rail website shows connections from Bruge to Aiguillon taking 9 hours, with three train changes, one being a change of stations in Paris.

It looks like you can do by TRAIN ( Belgian Rail: http://www.belgianrail.be/ )
BRUGGE > BRUSSELS AIRPORT - approx. 1.5 hours with one quick change either in Gent or Bruxelles-Nord €19.60 for an Adult Standard Ticket Then fly EasyJet: BRU > TLS (Toulouse) - €110.08 standard fare It appears EasyJet does not fly from BRU to Bordesux. Be aware to check EasyJet's very strict baggage rules.

Hi All, Thanks for all the helpful replies -keep them coming. Yes I have been researching. There are some flights from Brussels to Toulouse and Bordeaux - Problem is they leave Brussels at 6 am in the morning. That would be to do from Bruges - and we have booked and paid for our accommodation in Bruges (my birthday celebration request) Other thought ?? Bruges to Lille - then fly from there to Toulouse. Didn't realize how big France really is! Would it be the same distance more or less from Toulouse to Aiguillon
as from Bordeaux to Aiguillon - when I google it, it seems to be the same? Thx J

Hi, Yes, France is big, which is why the TGV train is good for riding these long distances. If you leave Paris in the morning, you'll arrive in Toulouse (with one transfer in Bordeaux) in the late afternoon. I took this route twice.

I get results showing there are flights from BRU to TLS on various carriers at 6:10, 8:45, 9:45, and 10:40 AM, and then 12:05, 3:30, 6:45, and 7:40 PM. However, the one-way fare is exorbitantly expensive compared to EasyJet. Of course, I don't know your travel date, so my results are using a random date and your results are probably different. Good luck whatever you decide to do!

I think I've found the best route! According to some travel forums there are some direct trains from Brugges to Lille Flanders - and then cheap flights from Lille to Bordeax. If anyone knows this route, let me know - Many
Thanks to all
