Looking for best way to get from Athens to Dubrovnik. Boat, train or plane. Costs?

There are no international trains out of Athens, and there are no trains to Dubrovnik (the trains from Zagreb go only as far as Split, after which you take a boat or bus). Unless you have several days to make the journey (not a joke, since it involves an overnight ferry from Athens to Italy, then a ferry from Italy to Dubrovnik), the only sensible way is to fly. David, In choosing the "best" way to travel that route, you'll likely have to decide between lowest cost or most grueling journey. When is this trip taking place? You could use a combination method of air to Italy plus a Ferry to Dubrovnik, but that's likely going to take more than one day. You could use only Ferries to Bari or Brindisi and then connect with another Ferry to Dubrovnik - again not the quickest. The easiest solution (but not necessarily the cheapest) will be via budget flights, and you'll likely need more than one. Some flights only operate seasonally, so when you'll be travelling will have a bearing on which flights are available. A few possibilities to consider..... > Aegean from ATH to VIE and then Croatia from VIE to DBV > Aegean from ATH to MXP and then Easyjet (seasonal) from MXP to DBV There are other possibilities but those are a few that I checked. Some of the airlines don't offer flights every day, so it could be a bit of a challenge getting flights to connect. The availability of flights will depend to a large extent on when your trip will be taking place. Good luck!
