Hello, I will travel to Paris for a first time, and I would like to know what is the best way to go from CDG airport to the hotel Citea Porte de Charenton (230 Rue de Paris), I'll travel with my parents and they're old people. I hope you can give me a recommendation. Thanks!
Thank you Tom, Byron and Frank, for your comments. Do you know how expensive the taxi is? And where at the airport can we take it? Regards.
This page on the Easy CDG site tells where to find taxi stands at each terminal and approximate fares to Paris.
Here is the recommended route if you use the RER/Metro trains: http://tinyurl.com/3kp5gty As you can see, it takes over an hour and involves two transfers. If I were traveling with elderly people and hauling luggage for 3, I'd take a taxi for sure. It won't be the cheapest way, but it'll be the easiest.
I would either take a taxi or arrange for a private van. No way elderly people can travel from the airport using the RER-Metro with luggage. Many stairs to climb up or down along with the difficulty getting your luggage through the turnstiles.
I take some offense to constant comments about elderly not be able to do things. Some of us are elderly, truely elderly - not just old -- and we can handle to transit stops and our luggage. Please define elderly. I know some 50 year olds that could not keep up with us.
