What is a cheap, yet quick, way of traveling from Barcelona to Madrid? The AVE train would be ideal because it is quick and goes right into either city's downtown but its 120 Euro! Any suggestions to lower this cost?

You can book the AVE up to 62 1/2 days in advance and get up to 60% off....Madrid-Barcelona downtown-downtown for as low as 44 Euro pp. www.renfe.es
