Two Travel tips requested for couple seeking quickest, simplest and willing to pay more for: 1) Zermat to Cinque Terre (by train), and 2) Cinque Terre to either Geneva or Amsterdam (by air, mostly).
bill, For the trips you mentioned, this is the method I'd use: > Zermatt to Cinque Terre: this is fairly straightforward, but a slightly longer travel day. - Depart Zermatt 07:39, arrive Monterosso 15:02 (time 7H:23M, 2 changes in Brig and Milan, reservations compulsory on two legs). > Cinque Terre to Amsterdam: this is a bit challenging, as there doesn't appear to be easy flight options from Pisa. Better options are available from Milan / MXP. This is one option: - Depart Monterosso ~07:00, arrive Milano Centrale (times will depend on which train you choose). Take Malpensa Shuttle (Bus) to MXP Terminal 2. Take EasyJet flight departing 14:05, arriving Amsterdam at 15:55 (current fares listed as low as €36.49 plus a few "fees" of course). I'm sure there are other methods that could be used, but it would take some time to work on it. Hopefully one of the others will have more suggestions. Happy travels!
