We need to travel from Amsterdam to Munich in Sept. Are there any inexpensive ways to do this? Looks like airfare is quite expensive.
Advance purchase tickets on the train can be very reasonable. But that is about you only choice - fly or ride.
I am seeing a few 39 Euro fares leaving 7 am, arriving 3:50 pm. One change in Hannover.
I just checked the easyJet site. It does not show any flights between Amsterdam and Munich. If you want to save the cost of a night in a hotel and have more daylight hours for sightseeing, you can take a direct CNL night train from Amsterdam to Munich. Book ASAP (up to 92 days allowed) on the German Rail site to get the best discount fares. Book on the same site to get discount fares for daytime trains.
I agree with the night train! We did it last year and it worked out perfectly!
If you book you book 92 days in advance on the German Rail (Bahn) website, you can get a daytime train ticket for as little as 39€/person from Amsterdam to Munich.
