How do we get to cruise dock from rome's airport. Any good hotels near dock?
Take the train (check out raileurope.com.) You will need to go into Rome Termini in any case. After a long flight why not stay the night in Rome? There are hotels at the port so Google that. The port itself didn't well, light my fire.
Don't use Rail Europe it will not show all the trains to Civit... Use trenitalia.com The are no good hotels near the dock. There are a couple of motel like hotels a few miles away. There is no reason to stay near or come to Civit prior to the cruise. Spend the day in Rome and take the train to the port. Depending on the particular train it is 45 mins to 1 15 and about 3 trains an hour. Basically a commuter run from Rome. The train station is about a half mile from the port and an easy walk. When you exit the train station you can probably see your ship.
Maria, I'd suggest staying in Rome prior to your Cruise, preferably in one of the Hotels near Termini Station. Have a look at This Excellent Website for good information on getting to Civitavecchia. You might find it helpful to have a look at Rick's new Cruising book, which can save money on shore excursions. Happy travels!
