What is the best way to get from the Ville train station to say the Suisse Hotel in Nice. What is the transportation like in Nice.
Hedy,
The easiest option is to take a Taxi. There are usually some waiting outside Nice Ville, and in many cases the drivers use Mercedes or other "high end" vehicles (they're very comfortable and the A/C is great on a hot day). There are some Vans as well.
There's a small "drop off area" right in front of the Hotel, but exercise caution if you're disembarking on the street side, as the traffic is quite busy along there.
If you haven't yet booked your room at Hotel Suisse, try to request a room with a view down the Promenade des Anglais. As I recall, Room #9 has a great view (corner room).
Happy travels!
According to viamichelin.com, it's 2.5km from the station to the hotel. Nice has a very good bus system so I expect it wouldn't be too difficult to take the bus. However, the simplest thing to do would be to take a taxi.
Be aware that busses in Nice all shut down at about 8pm. There are a couple of night busses. The tram has pretty long hours, is frequent, and is nicely comfy.
Handily your hotel is just a stroll across the old town from a tram stop.
