We will travel from Seville to Lisbon 4/27/24 to start a bike trip. What is the best way to travel between those two cities? Flying, though the most expensive option, takes an hour. Recommendations?
We have used the My Day Trip transfer service on several occasions, since for various reasons we can not travel by bus. While it is not inexpensive, it is convenient and efficient. Drivers were courteous, prompt, with clean and comfortable vehicles every time, and they provide door-to-door service. I believe that the earlier you book them, the better the price, and it is fully cancelable.
From Seville to Lisbon is 285 miles on the ground, and to go by bus is just under 7 hours.
You should be able to fly in under an hour very inexpensively on Vueling and other airlines. That would be the preferable way to go.
In 2014, we took a train from Lisbon to Faro, then a bus to Sevilla. It was a very long day, and I do not recommend it. Would definitely fly if we were to do that route again...
Thank you for the helpful information. We booked Ryan Air for the hour flight, paid the extras, and the pricing still comes out fairly even for ground transport. In cobbling two 10-11 day trips together, cutting transit time and energy is more economical on a time/expense scale. I don’t know how it stacks up on the carbon footprint scale.
