Transport from CDG airport to Paris Center during strike

Any recommendations for shuttle services or suggestions for other transportation in case this strike continues? Has anyone booked this type of thing in advance before? I'm arriving in Paris on Monday (19th) and leaving on Thursday (22nd) both in and out of CDG. Thanks!

We used the Air France shuttle to get from Montparnasse area to CDG airport on Nov. 14th. 13 Euros and great service. Check it out both ways.

Dee -

Just to let you know that the RER B from CDG is running to Gare Nord.

Issue of course is whether the metros are running from there.

Besides the service from Montparnasse that was suggested you can try www.parishuttle.com - they will have drivers who speak English as well.

Bon Voyage !

Once you get to Gare du Nord, take a taxi to your hotel. My taxi fare from Rue Cler to Gare du Nord last month during the strike was 14.30 Eu. It should be less to Montmartre, the Marais, or the Republique area. Just be flexible and creative. The people at the desk at your hotel will probably be helpful. After all, their livelihood is tied up in keeping the tourism industry going thru the strikes. If it's any help, the hop-on hop-off tourist buses were running in last month's strike.

I am reluctant to contradict someone who lives in Paris, but I've read elsewhere that the RER B did NOT run between CDG and Gare du Nord either yesterday or today.

There are two Air France coach routes from CDG to Paris. Coach #4 goes to Gare de Lyon and then on to Gare Montparnasse. Coach #2 goes to Porte Maillot and then on to the Arc de Triomphe (Place de l'Etoile).

Regarding Gare Nord and CDG

What is currently happening with the RER B via RATP.fr is that the train is running (this is a requirement by French law) however not frequent. The route is only between CDG and Gare Nord. The train stops will not go further into Paris.

If one happens close to a time that a train is leaving one could take this train. What can be helpful is that the train originates at CDG so finding room should be better. The displays at the station should advise.

Typically what happens during the strikes is that service ebbs and flows based on typical busy times of day. So at 8h00 there are more trains but at 13h00 there are less and returns at 18h00 to drop by 20h00.

Sarcozy and the unions have reached a level of agreement this week - so things are looking possible that next week will be better.

Yesterday there were nearly 20% more drivers than the day prior.

As of a few minutes ago the RATP site says that the Roissybus is operating at a 50% level. That would mean a bus every 30 minutes rather than every 15 minutes. The Roissybus goes from CDG to Opera. The fare is €8.60.

An update regarding travel from CDG

As of this afternoon - Sunday - 15h30 the Rossybus is operating normally from CDG into Central Paris

Here is a link to catch the Rossybus (Rossypole) at CDG as well as general airport information

http://www.bonjourlafrance.net/air-france/paris_charles_de_gaulle_airport/cdg-terminal-shuttles.htm

RER B - is running but not frequently.

For travel into Paris Monday and Tuesday I would recommend shuttle or Rossybus.

Note that traveling into town may be slow during rush our times.

Bon chance !

Great information everyone. I am traveling next week but arriving Thursday in Paris and leaving the following week. Do I need a reservation for the Rossybus either way?
