My husband and I will be posted to Landstuhl for about a month in 2012. I plan on traveling quite a bit during that time in and around Germany (France and Austria). What is the best and most cost effective way to travel extensively to northwestern Germany, Bavaria, northern Austria, and northeastern France while having a home base in Landstuhl (lots of one to two day trips)? Is there a bus or train station that connects to a major railway? Thanks!
