Hello. We will be in The Netherlands this year, and I have some questions regarding local transit passes that so far I have been unable to find the answers to. 1. Our first stop in this country will be in Delft. Is there any place in Delft to purchase an HTM daily pass? 2. We will also be in Amsterdam. Would we be better served purchasing Anonymous OV-Chipkaarten for each member in our party instead of individual HTM and GVB daily passes? 3. If you feel the Anonymous card is the way to go, are these available for purchase in Delft? If so, where? 4. I'm assuming that whichever route we go, we will need cash or a Chip-and-Pin card to purchase the passes. Am I correct in this assumption? Thank you all in advance for your time and wisdom!
I'm not familiar with the HTM passes so I can't help with that. It sounds like you will be traveling throughout Holland; not just Amsterdam. If that is the case, then the Anonymous OV is probably the way to go. It can be used throughout the country on most all forms of public transit, from inter-city trains to municipal transit. The Anonymous cards can be purchased at any train station. Dutch Rail doesn't accept magnetic strips cards at their machines or ticket windows, so you will have to use cash.
