Transit from Paris to Amsterdam

Hi!

I need to get from Paris to Amsterdam this fall and price is unfortunately very important. Airfare seems very expensive (and not direct) but I can't book a train this far in advance (and also seems more expensive than I hoped). How would you suggest we go about this?

Thank you.

Thanks for the tips. I didn't know about Vueling Air - they don't show availability yet for my date but I will keep an eye on it. I'll also jump onto the train site exactly 90 days before our trip.

Vueling must have recently added a Paris-Amsterdam route. The last time I checked, no budget airlines flew the route.

The standard 2nd class fare for a Paris-Amsterdam Thalys ticket is €101. The Smilys fare is €69. It will be shown as €34.50 each way, but it's only sold as a return (roundtrip). Book an arbitrary return time and date and throw away the unused portion. You can book up to 90 days in advance at either www.thalys.com or www.sncf.com. Smilys fares sell out fast so book as soon as the 90-day window opens. Leave France as the default country and print your own ticket.
