Transfers to airport from hotel in Venice, Italy

Does anyone have advice on transfers (both pricewise and reliability wise) from hotels to the airport in Venice? Need one-way for two people, hotel to airport for Nov 14th, 2010

Transfers doesn't make much sense. Do you mean taking the Alilaguna to a stop near your hotel? A private motorboat? The bus to the Piazza Roma, then on to your hotel in some form?

I am only looking for a way to the Marco Polo Airport from the Hotel Principe on Nov 14th. Is it better to do by land or water? Does the train go there? Any ideas what it costs to do this? Thanks for answering so fast......

In what part of Venice is the hotel located? The train goes to Santa Lucia only. From there you take a vaporetto down the Grand Canal to the stop nearest your hotel (a stop is right outside the station). The Alilaguna boats go directly from the airport to several spots along the outside rim of Venice, including San Marco. The bus goes from the airport to Piazza Roma, about 200 yards from the train station (another vaporetto stop there). You can spring for a big splurge and take a water taxi (about 90-120 Euros). The best way depends on your hotel's location and available funds.

Go to the website for the Hotel Principe and you will find a map of its location. The map shows the route to the nearest Alilaguna stop (water bus to the airport) and also to the land bus station for buses to the airport. The Aliluguna costs 13 euros each, the blue bus (ATVO)to the airport 3 euros each, the orange city bus (ACTV)to the airport 2.50 euros each. Of course as mentioned you could get a water taxi right to your hotel for about 100 euros for up to 4 people plus. All are pretty reliable.
