Transferring from Frankfurt airport to Hahn airport

Hi! I will be arriving in Frankfurt on a USAir Flight from Philly at 10.50am, I am wanting to purchase a ticket on Ryan Air ticket that departs from Hahn at 2.50pm and am wondering if anyone can tell me if I should have enough time to make it on the 12.15 bus that departs for Hahn from Frankfurt airport? I am aware that the bus trip is about 90-105 minutes because Hahn is quite far out, but just wondering if I can actually get through customs and baggage at Frankfurt in time to make the bus? Is this doable? For the day that I want, it would save me about $100 dollars, including the price of the transfer bus. Thanks in advance!

Well, you might make it if everything goes well. If things are even just a little delayed, you will not make it. Ryan air accepts no excuses and you will lose all your money if there are any delays and you miss the bus and the flight. Where are you going to?

I have to agree with Jo. I have flown into FRA five times since 2000, and, if memory serves me, I have been at one of the train stations, ready to get on a train, within an hour of landing. But, of landing, is the key word. I have also been an hour late landing in Europe after a trans-Atlantic flight at least twice. If your flight gets in late, say by half an hour, you will probably miss your bus.

Also, I go strictly carryon. I don't know what it would add if I had to wait for my luggage. And, I know exactly how to get to the train station and go directly there. How long will it take you to find the bus?

The 12:15 bus gets into Hahn (scheduled) at 1:45. That only gives you 25 minutes to find Ryan Air and check in. If there are a lot of people in line by that time, and you are not actually checked in by 2:10, you miss the flight and lose your ticket.

There are an awful lot of opportunities for a dissaster with that plan. I wouldn't try it.

IMHO, this is not a wise thing to do. Inter-continental planes can be late. This is a situation that you can't control. I believe that your RyanAir ticket could be non-refundable and non-changable.

You don't indicate where you are flying to from Hahn. Did you know that there are numerous inexpensive airlines similar to RyanAir that fly out of FRA? CLICK HEREto see a list. Even at FRA, give yourself time to change airlines. It's a big airport.

The only RyanAir flight out of Hahn at 14:50 appears to be to Göteborg, Sweden.

Thanks for the advice! Yes, Gothenburg is my destination, as that's where I live. I can also fly into Copenhagen and take the train from there, but it looks like the only other 'budget' airline is Air Berlin and for that date their flights are higher than SAS. SAS usually has a good rate for that rate but for that particular week it's more than twice as much. I guess I won't risk it this time. Thanks again!
