Transferring at Frankfurt airport

Flying Seattle to Frankfurt on Condor then Frankfurt to Budapest on Lufthansa.

We'll have one checked bag but it should be checked through since it was on the same ticket.

What should we expect since we have not transferred through FRA? Surely it will not be as chaotic as Heathrow, lol.

FRA is, unfortunately, not the most efficient airport. However, you should be ok if you allow plenty of transit time.

Every time I've landed from Seattle (on Lufthansa) I've been bussed to the terminal. But never missed a connection or lost a bag. You'll go through EU immigration, then follow signs in German and English to your connecting flight. Probably easier than Heathrow, assuming that you have enough time.

you'll need to figure out some kind of snack workaround because the food options in FRA are all awful - they can't even make a pretzel that's edible. Ditto the snacks served on the short leg -- if they offer you a sandwich or a pastry, don't take the sandwich. Just sayin'

I have no problem finding decent food in Frankfurt. And yes, odds are you will get a 15 minute bus ride. But the airport is a snap compared to Heathrow. You should get from plane to new gate in 45 minutes, leaving you plenty of time to eat. Wait till you see your departure gate.... LOL>

Mr. E, are we distinguishing between Frankfurt and FRA airport regarding food?
Of course there's good eating in Frankfurt, but not at FRA airport!
Or is there a Pret a Manger there that I don't know about?

The topic was Frankfurt airport. My response was on topic. For an airport, i don't think it's worse than average. But maybe my standards are sort of low income / budget.
