Has anyone flown through Amsterdam since the C'mas bombing? We plan to fly Delta (April 26-May 13??) from Dulles to Berlin and return from Warsaw to Dulles, both times transfering in Amsterdam. On the way over we could take the 1 hr 45 min transfer time??? Flying back to Dulles it's either 1 hr 30min or over 5 hours. What should we take? We probably need longer when flying back to the USA because of the extra security. Thanks for any thoughts or recent experiences....
You should be fine with the hour and 45 minutes going and hour and 30 return is probably tight but doable. If I recall, the US flights are a pretty good trek from the connecting flights, and you clear the security at the gate, but it is one of the best airports to transfer in the EU.
If 110 minutes is fine for a transfer, does that mean that the 105 minutes or the 90 minutes in the original post are inadequate?
First, I have not been through Amsterdam since the Christmas Bomber incident.
But... I've connected through Amsterdam many times, and made connections in over 100 different airports --- --- Amsterdam is among the best 3 or 4 in the world for connecting.
I would feel comfortable there making an international connection in as little as 75 or 80 minutes under any circumstance or recent event. (Now... you can't dilly dally, they'll do their part... but you've still got to hustle to do yours!)
