We are flying to Ljubljana in April for two weeks in Slovenia. We will depart at night from Boston with a choice of one stop flights transferring thru Munich with a 1hr 30min layover or Zurich with a 1hr 20min layover. We've been thru the Zurich airport a few times but Munich only once, neither with any issues. Though the layover times are similar I'm looking for opinions/preferences on which may be the better airport to transfer through. Normally I would choose a slightly longer layover but the third choice is a 3hrs 20min layover in Frankfurt and it departs Boston at 5:15pm which we do not care for. We prefer the 10:00 and 10:55pm departures.

I’ve done 40 minute connections in Munich so would normally choose that. It has been awhile since I connected in Zurich so can’t make a recommendation for that. I’ve always found MUC easy to navigate

Both are fine. ZRH is efficient, and MUC has been constructed explicitly with short connections in mind...
