Does anyone have any info on their experiences tranfering from the naples airport to Sorrento? We are looking at our options. We are not interest in limo or taxi service they are to expensive and using the train seems complicated from the airport. but we would like to go directly from the airport to sorrento. does anyone have tips on using the ferry or bus service to get to sorrento? Thanks
There is a direct bus that leaves just outside the terminal that ends at the train station in Sorrento. I think it was 10 Euros a person.
It really isn't complicated to take the bus from the airport to Naples and the Circumvesuviana train from there to Sorrento. The bus stops right by the Napoli Centrale train station.
However, you can take a Curreri bus directly from the airport to Sorrento. Buses depart at 09:00, 11:00, 13:00, 14:30, 16:30, and 19:30. The trip takes 1hr15min.
thanks jerry. did you have a reservation or do you buy the ticket once you were on the bus? how long did it take the bus to get there?
regards
Hi Bill -
I vote for the bus. I was there in the end of August and found this to be very easy. Let me also add...I was traveling solo, was super tired (flight leaving Dublin was delayed nearly 3 hours and they kept us sitting on the plane the entire time!) and I was a bit hungover(Ok...I was coming from Dublin after all!). Landed in Naples, got luggage, headed straight out the doors, across a little street, saw a bus with driver standing near door. He indicated 20 minutes. I stood right there with two other women waiting for the same bus. In precisely 20 min, driver goes aboard, motions us on, we pay him and we were off. Only me and the two other women on entire bus! Very relaxed ride with good views. I think it was about an hour.
