Has anyone transferred from Heathrow to Gatwick ? We are arriving in Heathrow early in September and leaving out of Gatwick the next day. We want to go the least expensive way possible. What has your experience been ?

There is direct bus service between the two airports. About an hour, 15 depending on traffic. However, need to know where you plan to spend the night in between. At Heathrow, going into London, gives us a hint because that will influence the answer.
