What is the best way to get from Gatwick to Stansted? How much time should we allow, and what would be the approximate cost?
See www.thetrainline.com for connections by train and costs. Much faster than the bus. Basically you take the Gatwick express train to London Victoria, switch to the tube, then take a train. You could always catch taxi in London, versus taking the tube.
The simplest is a direct coach (bus), but you will be subject to traffic delays. Allow six hours between your scheduled arrival at Gatwick and your scheduled departure from Stansted. Here's a link to a page that shows you all your transfer options: http://tinyurl.com/lbrha.
Thank you both for the helpful information.
Easyjet now has shuttle system from Gatwick to Stanstead I believe. I know its Stanstead and also Luton, since they fly out of those airports.
I would allow yourself a minimum of 3 hours since you have to travel, check in at the gate, and board.
Check www.easyjet.com.
Wrong url. Try http://info.easybus.co.uk/
All of the time allowances, of course, are assuming that your flight arrives on time in London. You had better allow some extra time (several hours, at least) for your flight to be late getting to London.
