Transfer at FRA with less than two hours

I'm looking at flights from Seattle to Rome in November. Lufthansa has a flight from SEA to FCO via Frankfurt, with a transfer time of 1 hour and 40 minutes. Is that enough time to make the onward flight (provided, of course, that the international flight lands on time)? Both the international flight and the onward flight appear to be operated by Lufthansa.

(Google Flights also shows a Virgin Atlantic (int'l)/British Airways (Europe) combo that has a 1 hour and 50 minute layover at Heathrow, but that seems way too tight for LHR.)

Sure, if as you say it is the same ticket and everyone is on time. The good part is that if you miss the flight, Lufthansa will have to get you on the next available flight.

If you flight arrives on time you should be ok. Note I said "IF". Definitely go with the Lufthansa option. If something happens at least you will already be on the continent and will have a variety of options to get to Rome.

Both flights are in the same terminal and you don't have to pick up your luggage. That is plenty of time to walk to your next gate. Lufthansa always uses Terminal 1.

In addition to the encouragement you have already gotten, I will tell you that we have had several experiences with even tighter connections through FRA. Not only did we make our flights, but our luggage did, too.
