Trains in Paris to Bayeaux

We are taking the Thalys from Brussels to Paris on April 26th then we need to find a train to Bayeaux. What train station (and company name of train) do we need and what is the best way to get from the Thalys station to this other station. We will have luggage with us. thank you for your help!

You can take the TGV/SNCF from Gare St. Lazare. You should be able to get on a bus from the Thalys station. We did this in September. Buses between the stations leave right outside the door frequently.

You're going to come in to Paris Nord (stations are determined by destination or arrival direction, not type of train). You'll leave for Bayeux from Gare St Lazare. It'll be a SNCF train. You can take the metro/RER between the two, but there's a lot of tunnel hiking at both ends, which probably won't work (since you mention luggage, I'd presume it's not on your back). Take a taxi - - it's only a couple of miles and shouldn't stiff you more than about fifteen bucks with luggage.

Susan, when you check the various rail sites, be sure to spell the towns correctly....Bayeux--there isn't an "a" .

For the sake of clarity, there is no TGV service between Paris and Bayeux. Depending upon the departure time, you will either take an Intercites train all the way to Bayeux or you will take an Intercites train to Caen and transfer there to a regional train to Bayeux. If you'll have a lot of luggage, follow Ed's suggestion and take a taxi. If you'll have a moderate amount of luggage, you could take a bus as MD suggests. Bus #43 goes directly from Gare du Nord to Gare Saint-Lazare. The fare is one metro/bus ticket (€1.70). If you're packing light, your fastest route is to take the RER E train from Magenta (attached to Gare du Nord) one stop to Haussmann - Saint-Lazare. The fare is €1.70.

Thank you all so much! This information is so helpful. And I don't know why I keep adding an "a" to Bayeux! haha We will definately take a taxi to get to the other train station. Can the tickets to Bayeux be purchased in advance also? Time is of the essence and we want to get to our destination as quickly as possible.
Thank you!!
