Trains in Paris

Hi
Will be flying with Ryanair to Paris Beauvais in September.
What a mistake, tickets booked now so no going back. Thought I would save, Travelling on a budget. Just booked tickets to Paris, didnt realise Beauvais was so far away from where I'm staying. I'm staying in Paris International campsite, in Maisons Laifitte.
I can get a bus from airport to , I think it's rue de maillot, near the arc de Triomphe.
To get a taxi from beauvais to maisons laifitte will cost up to €200, so if I get a bus like I said, can I then get a train to maisons laifitte? If so which train station do I use.
Whats the average train prices in Paris?
Thanks..

When you arrive at the Porte Maillot bus stop, head south to the big Porte Maillot traffic circle. There you'll find a subway station. Take it out to La Defense, at which point you can transfer to the RER A line. A-3 and A-5 trains go to Maisons-Laffitte. Check http://www.ratp.info/informer/anglais/index.php for routes and times. The trains run until about midnight. Fare should be 5 or 6 Euro, tops. Have you thought about camping in the Bois De Boulogne? A lot closer to Paris, but busier. Check http://www.campingparis.fr/uk_boulogne_infos.html

Thanks Norm,

I just checked out that website you suggested. It would be ideal.I looked into cancelling the other one I already have paid in full and would lose 50% of my deposit.(hindsight is a good thing)Will definitely keep it in mind for the future.

Thanks for the info re trains etc.
Regards
Ellen.

Ellen,

Just in case you didn't know it, you can book the Beauvais-Porte Maillot shuttle bus on the Beauvais airport Web site and not have to stand in line to buy your ticket.

A single ticket on the RER from Maisons-Laffitte to central Paris costs €3.50 and includes transfers to other RER lines and/or Metro lines so long as you don't exit the system.

Are you familiar with the Carte Orange? It's a weekly (Monday-Sunday) pass that is good for unlimited rides on the Metro, RER, city buses, trams, and the Montmartre funicular. It's sold through Wednesday for the current week. No sales on Thursdays. If you buy it Friday-Sunday, it won't be good until the following Monday. Maisons-Laffitte is in zone 4. A zone 1-4 Carte Orange costs €26.70. It requires a passport-sized photo. Cutting out a headshot of yourself from an old photo is sufficient.
