Trains from LeHavre to Paris

We will arrive on cruise ship at LeHavre and I know Paris well enough that I dont want to take the expensive cruise tour. Has anyone taken this train to Paris and are there day return tickets that are a better deal than straight point to point return? I figure on 2 hours each way and about 5 hours walking in Paris to show my husband which is about the same length of time as the tours offered. Thanks...

Round trip is not cheaper than purchasing each way. Depending on how far in advance you book, you can get tickets for as low as 15 Euro each way. You can buy them in advance at tgv-europe.com (switch to "Great Britain" on the second screen). These are called PREMs tickets and are non-refundable or changeable. You can choose to print them out at home or pick them up at any French railway station. Tickets with more flexibility are 29 Euro each way. You will arrive at St. Lazare station, so you can plan your blitz ofthe city from there.

Thanks Norm...are these 15 Euro tickets for a speciifc train or can they be used for all as I'm not sure what time we will get off the ship.Would the 29 E tickets be better for that. Thanks so much.

Found the perfect trains and tickets Norm. Its a great website and wish I had found it earlier to save lots of running around different country rail sites. I knew we would arrive at Gare St Lazare and will just buy some Metro tickets...wont need a cachet.
