Trains from Florence to Venice

Are there more frequent trains (trenitalia) between Florence and Venice? Trenitalia website only shows one at 21:50 hrs arriving at 01:00 into Venice. Thanks!

There are dozens of trains. You are most likely looking too far out and all the schedules are not posted. Chose the same day of the week sometime within the next month and you will see all your options. Schedules change very little over time.

Ganesh, On that route, there are EuroStar Italia / Alta Velocita trains every hour, so you should have no trouble getting a seat. As Frank mentioned, you may be looking too far in the future, and the schedules may not be posted yet. Are you travelling with a Railpass or using P-P tickets? Happy travels!

Thanks a bunch Frank and Ken for clarifying my doubt. I am not sure if I need to get P-P tickets or rail pass as we want to go 1) Rome to Naples,2) Naples to Florence and 3) Florence to Venice. These will be the main trips apart from the trips to Sorrento, Sienna and Pisa... Any suggestions appreciated..

Ganesh, would these three journeys on the high-speeds be on 3 different days? The fewer the travel days, the cheaper the pass. Just checking.

My mother traveled through Italy last summer by train and had no connection issues. We flew into Milan, took the train from Milan to Florence, Florence to Venice then Venice to Rome. There were several trains to choose from each day and there were no problems.

Larry Thanks for your response. Yes, we intend to take the train on 3 separate days...apparently we are too early to make reservations i.e. >2 months. We hope to get cheaper tickets for all three legs.

Thanks for clarification. Yep, we realized that there were different options for trains other than the ones we were looking at...now we have to wait <2 months before our intended trip to make reservations.
