staying at the castello di montegufoni and trying to figur out the train system from firenze train station to tuscany. It's one km from the village of baccaiaco
We can't give advice that will be useful to you--if we don't have enough info to understand your question:
What do you mean by "trying to figure out"?
Where exactly (correct spelling helps) in Tuscany?
Please clarify and we'll try to help.
What train do you take from firenze train station to get to Castello di Montegufoni hotel, its one km from Buccaiaco in Tuscany (30 min outside of Firenze.
Thank you for the clarification.
However, please double check that you have given us the correct (and full) spelling of the village of Baccaiaco; because a place name with that spelling is not coming up on either a map or train schedule.
sorry its the village of Baccaiano.
Okay, that clarifies that: Baccaiano. Unfortunately, there's no train to Baccaiano from Florence (or from anywhere else), it's a small village with no rail line to it.
You'll probably want to investigate whether the Tuscany bus system will get you there, here's that website
http://www.sitabus.it/wps/portal/DovePartire_Toscana
We haven't found any really user-friendly Italy bus schedules on the internet, in English, so it's going to get frustrating for you quick, trying to figure this out in advance online.
If bus doesn't work, you're down to taxi from Florence; it's about 20 miles each way, that's a 35 to 40 min ride each way, although the time it takes (and taxi cost) depends on Florence traffic at the time you do it. Have no idea how much the taxi would cost: probably expensive because the driver has to drive both ways for each trip, he isn't going to figure he'll pick up any fares in that village.
Just curious: how did you even find Baccaiano? Time share? Relatives came from there?
going to a wedding at the castle di montegufoni, was told the train goes to montelupo fiorentino 12 km from the castle
Okayyyyy, there are trains to two locations that might be what you're talking about: these destinations with train stops are Montelupo Fiorentino and Castelfiorentino, and are different locations than you've been asking about above.
Here are two rail schedule websites with which you can answer your own question.
click here for most user friendly of the European rail schedule websites, it covers Italy
click here for official Italian rail schedules
First site is more user-friendly for getting schedules, 2nd site is the official Italian rail site. But since you can't use the official site to buy tickets online in advance (it rejects all US credit cards), I suggest you start with the German website.
If you want to make this research process easier on yourself, paying attention to the details of getting correct and accurate place names, and spelling them correctly, is going to help you more quickly figure out what you need to figure out.
Good luck with this.
