TRAIN WEBSITES FOR ITALY

I am looking at train schedules between Milan Centrale and Varenna Italy. The trenitalia website gives scheduling information as well as the sbb.ch (switzerland?) with different times. Are they both correct and are they located in the same place?

I might be inclined to trust the Swiss website. European rail companies adjust their schedules the 2nd weekend in June, but Italian Rail is often slow, so theirs might be the previous schedule. On the other hand, the Swiss and German Rail schedules might depend on Italian Rail updating the common database, and if they've updated their own schedules but not the common database, they could be the right one. If you can wait a few weeks to see how the schedules shake out, I'd do it.

You can see this train journey on the German, Swiss and Italian websites. Note, however, that www.trenitalia.com is supposed to have the best information. After all, its their trains. Yes, Milano Centrale and Varenna-Esino are in the same place they have always been. Seeing different times doesn't mean that they are different stations. The train to Varenna-Esino departs about every 90 minutes. These are all Regionale trains. No seat reservations permitted. The Regionale trains are like buses. If all of the seats are taken, you can stand. If you take this train, be prepared to get off the train quickly. The train doesn't stay there very long.
