Planning first Europe trip with friends. We arrive at Barajas airport and from there we go to Toledo. We always though is was easier to use the train but I have read a lot about people using the bus. Wish one is better and why? thanks.
Some people recommend the bus from Madrid to Toledo because it is slightly cheaper, and the bus station is a bit closer to the center of Toledo-but it is still at the bottom of the hill. With luggage, you will want transport into the center (Plaza Zocodovar) or even to your hotel. Also you need to think about the best way from the airport into Madrid to catch your transport to Toledo. I suggest you consider the Aerobus, which is very inexpensive and takes you directly to Atocha station, where you can catch the train to Toledo. If you want to take the bus, you will have several transfers just getting to the bus station. Upon arrival in Toledo by train, it is a simle matter to take a cab up to Plaza zocodovar or to your hotel. We paid 6 euros to go to the Plaza and walked to our hotel from there.
Thank you very much Lola..
