Is train travel limited on Sundays? I will be traveling in France. Thanks!
I don't know if France is like Germany or not, but in Germany I would tend to say that, except maybe morning commuter runs, schedules are pretty much the same.
But, if you want to check it out, use the German Rail website. They have detailed schedules for all over Europe, not just Germany.
Regional train service can be more limited on Sundays, but long distance service usually is the same every day. (Don't count on this, though.) You can get detailed timetables on the German Rail site. Enter the date(s) of your choice and then compare the timetables for Sundays, Saturdays, and any weekday. After you get summary timetables from point A to point B, click on the arrow to the left of the departure time(s) of your choice to see the connecting points, if any.
Wow, great info...THANKS
However, I have found that buses in Germany run less often on weekends.
The main issue is that there is sometimes construction work on railway lines on Sundays, with trains diverted or replaced by buses. Unfortunately, you rarely get more than a few weeks' notice.
