Train travel northern Italy

We will be traveling in Italy in sept. coming from Venice, there is a regional train that goes to Pescheria del Garda (on Lake Garda). I can't seem to find a train that goes to Varenna on Lake Como from that town on Garda, even though there is a train station there! Any tips ? Thanks!

The train to Varenna comes from Milan, so you might as well take the fast train from Venice to Milan, and catch the regionale to Varenna there.

Patricia, The Trenitalia website shows numerous trains from Peshieria del Garda to Varenna each day, with 1 - 3 changes. Fares range from €13.35 to €26.95. The train I'd use is a departure at 08:47, arriving Varenna-Esino at 11:23 (time 2H:36M, one change at Milano Centrale, fare €26.95, reservations compulsory on first leg). The train from Milan to Varenna will be a Regionale, so DON'T forget to validate your ticket prior to boarding the train on the day of travel! Many of the other trains on that route have more changes and longer travel time, so those would be factors to consider. Happy travels!

You can't go directly from Garda to varenna on Como. Like Ken and Lola said, you have to go to Milan and change trains there. If you are starting at Venice, it makes no sense to stop at Pescheria, unless you want to visit Lake Garda for a while before going on to Milan and Varenna..
