It is as easy as anywhere else. Go to Bahn.de for schedules and time or use trenitilia.com. Bahn is a little easier to use.

It is very easy to take the train between the CT and Nice Ville (the train station you want). The difficulty is that most of the trains are the slower Regionale and InterCity trains. Travel time is 5.5hrs-6.0hrs.

Carolyn, That's a relatively easy trip (I've travelled it in the reverse direction). As the others have mentioned, you can use the bahn.de or Trenitalia websites to plan your journeys. On that particular route there will be at least one change in Ventimiglia and perhaps additional changes at Genova Piazza Principe or other stations. You can see the travel times, changes and other details on the websites. Happy travels!
