The fist two weeks of July we will be traveling from Stockholm to Oslo and then Oslo to Copenhagen. Are there any issues we need to know about in terms of reservations, time of day to travel, how long the trips will be, etc. This is our first time there.

We booked a train from Orebro to Stockholm for our trip this summer. In looking on the Swedish rail website (www.sj.se) they have instituted a new price structure where prices rise based on demand. We went ahead and booked our trip and printed off the receipt so we could lock in the lower fare. You could also pay a bit more for a flexible ticket if you wanted. Biggest problem we had was making sure our credit card was part of the "Verified by Visa" program (it has to be for their website) and putting in a phone number in the correct sequence! We just did the Stockholm to Oslo trip. Trips are about 6-7 hours.
One thing to point out. There are night trains a couple of times a week. A berth in a 6 person couchette comes with your ticket on the night train.
