train travel from Venice or Milan to St. Moritz

we are trying to take a QUICK side trip from Padua (or Milan or Venice) to St. Moritz over a long weekend (i.e. July 4 to 8). I am interested in taking a scenic train to St Moritz but am unsure of the travel time involved. optimally we would travel by rail to see the sights along the route and then spend a night or so in St. Moritz. any ideas/suggestions? also, we would be open to other side trips from the Padua are so please pass along any suggestions. thanks so much!

The only train route for St. Moritz for you is then via Tirano. Padua is within reach of 1/3 of Italian attractions for a long weekend getaway. Seriously.
