My wife and I are planning a second honeymoon to Spain. We will travel from Valencia to Madrid on Sat June 21 on an Alaris train. QUESTION: should we book in advance or is it OK to buy the ticket at the station? It would be better if we could be flexible on that day. Thanks in advance.
Generally speaking, you should buy tickets upon arrival to Valencia. It is difficult to know how busy the trains are going to be and if you wait til the day-of-departure, you run the risk of having to wait or adjust your travel plans. Madrid-Valencia line connects two big Spanish cities so there is likely to be some demand for those seats.
Simply put, there's no way to know but better to have your seats ahead of time.
