Train travel from Prague to Paris

I have a Eurail Pass Saver and have been looking at the train schedules on the DB Bahn site. It seems very confusing because they are mixing trains with buses. Is there a more direct route by train from Prague to Paris? I will be leaving Prague on October 24 to hopefully get back to Paris and catch my flight home on the morning of the 25th. Thank you! :-)

Mary, This route is going to be a long haul but with a Pass it's easier. I've done it from Dresden. To avoid going by bus, I myself would take this route: don't go by Nürnberg but rather Prague to Dresden on the EC train, the early departure. transfering there for Paris. Take the Dresden-Frankfurt ICE train. But from Frankfurt to Paris you'll need a mandatory reservation, which you should get in Dresden. All in all you should arrive at Paris Est before 2100. Whichever route you take you'll have to transfer trains.

Don't shy away from the Prague-Nuernberg bus if the timing is right. It's a modern over-the-road bus with facilities. From Nuernberg there are probably connections to Stuttgart where you can catch the direct TGV (or an ICE) to Paris. If you don't want to see the bus schedules (or go through Nuenberg), go to "stopover" (or via) and put in "Dresden" for 00:00. That will force a route that goes through Dresden.

Mary, Think German here...the DB bus is a very nice, clean and comfortable bus, absolutely nothing like Greyhound, which I have ridden numerous times recently. The mandatory reservation for the Frankfurt-Paris Est leg cost 25 Euro in 1st class, a bit pricey but a meal comes with it. For 2nd class it's 10 Euro.
