In mid October, will the train traveling from Nice to the Cinque Terre stop in Vernazza? Thank you!
Yep: http://www.trenitalia.com/ Click on the English flag at the top center of the page. Pay attention to the number and length of connections.
mimi, Yes, absolutely! As Eileen mentioned there will be several connections, so you'll need to determine which combination of trains works best for you. You can also check the German Rail website for information. The trip will be about six hours, and will have two or three changes (always at Ventimiglia, which is the border crossing and usually at Genova Piazza Principe). It's a relatively easy journey. Happy travels!
Thank you for responding to my questions regarding train travel from Nice to Vernazza. I didn't realize it would take so long (6 hours) to travel from Nice to Vernazza!
It's the little putt-putt train with lots of connections - certainly not a high-speed rail corridor LOL! Now Rome - Milan...that's only 3 hours! Just think of it as 3 or 4 30min-to-1 1/2 hour trains ;-)
