Does anyone have detailed steps on how to take the train from Frankfurt airport to Nuremberg train station?
Buy your ticket from the machine at the airport train station. There or live persons ticket agents at the airport station if you have trouble with the machine.
There are direct train every 30 minutes (almost) from the Frankfurt Airport Fernbahnhof (Long Distance Train Station). So that is where you should head after you get your luggage, follow the signs. There is a ticket office there.
Go to www.bahn.de.
Look up "FRA" to "NUREMBERG".
In the results pick one of the direct trains that leave at about 1 1/2 hours after your planned arrival.
- Book a "Flexpreis" ticket. Cost is 68,90. If you want you can also buy reservations (separate, 5,20 per seat).
A Flexpreis ticket is good for all trains on the route, so if you happen to be later at the station (or earlier) you are free to take any other train on the route. No need for exchanging your ticket. So you can just walk from the plane to the train, get on the next train and travel. If you take a reservation that will be for one particular train, but that does not prevent you from taking other trains.
Note you can download the Deutsche Bahn app to you phone, and book your ticket on that. Your ticket then shows on the app as a QR code, just like a boarding pass.
