I am traveling from Florence to Cinque Terre and cannot find how early I can arrive at CT by Train. Does anyone know how early the trains depart from Florence to this region? I have only 1 day/night to spend in CT and want to arrive as early as possible. Thank you!

You can get a train as early as 4:30am with arrival in Vernazza or Monterosso just after 08:00. The next train out of Florence is at 07:55 which gets you there just after 10:00. However, it's important to know which of the 5 CT towns you are traveling to. 3 of the 5 towns get fewer local trains than do the other 2. Thus, you can get to La Spezia Centrale or Pisa quite early for your train transfer but you might have to wait a bit to get a local to the town you want. Please advise.

Sure. http://www.ferroviedellostato.it/homepage_en.html. This will take you right to the English page. This is the primary website for train travel in Italy. They own and operate the trains. Hint: put in 03:00 as the departure time. The earliest trains will then appear.
