Train travel

For traveling from Amsterdam to Copenhagen to Oslo and back to Amsterdam in 14 days, what is the best rail pass to purchase?

Hi, Were you thinking of getting a two country Pass? You're going to use the Pass for 3 rides? The last ride Oslo-Amsterdam? I wouldn't get it for 3 rides, normally for ten I would, in this case a two country Pass.

It's a long, expensive trip. If the point is to get there quickly and cheaply, by air is your better bet. If you plan stops along the way (the only time I'd choose rail for that itinerary), buying point to point tickets will beat a rail pass.

Rick, If you want to take some other means, assuming you're not under real time pressure, you could do Oslo-Amsterdam this way: Take the ferry, Oslo to Kiel, stay the night in Kiel or take the next train to Hamburg (trains to Kiel almost always go through Hamburg Hbf), then Hamburg to Amsterdam via Duisburg on the IC and ICE trains. You change once at Duisburg Hbf.
