Train tickets in the Netherlands

Hello, need some train tickets for Eindhoven-Groningen and then Groningen-Brussels. Would rather wait and buy them at the station the day I need to travel but I am worried it will be more expensive that way. Should I buy them online prior or can I wait till I get to the station. By the way, I will not be in the Netherlands before these train trips, so going to the station beforehand is not an option. Thanks! Jamie

Seat reservations aren't possible for inter-city trains in Holland and Belgium, all seast are first come first serve. This also means that there is no price advantage to purchasing tickets in advance. It's best to purchase tickets at the station on the day of your journey.

Eindhoven - GRoningen: 3h30-3h50 travel time, 2nd class tickets € 23,50 one-way. No reservations possible or needed. Groningen - Brussels: better solution is to buy, in advance, a high-speed Thalys train Rotterdam - Brussels (prices vary) via Internet. Then, you can buy, on the departure day, Groningen - Rotterdam tickets for the domestic part of the journey (€ 25 one-way 2nd class) and match a train that will fit your Rotterdam connection.
