Train tickets from Madrid to Barcelona

I have been trying for over a week to get train tickets from Renfe website. Help. I have followed the directions posted on Trip Advisor to no avail. I have contacted my bank to not block any transaction. I've done everything but stand on my head while I make the reservations. Any help will be appreciated. The traveling date is June 27, 2011.

Did you register your credit card with Verified by Visa or the Mastercard equivalent? That made the difference for me.

I did not register the Verified by Visa. Thanks. I will try that.
