Train ticket info

Hello, I first would like to say thank you to everyone on this site. I have received so much great information for planning my trip that I don’t think I could have done it without your help, so thank you.

OK, I have two more questions concerning train tickets. I purchased my train tickets from Trenitalla and everything went well. My questions are:

1) Do I have to get my tickets validated before I get onto the train?
2) And if I do, where do I do this, at the ticket booth, by the train
conductor, or somewhere else?

Thank you again for your help.

Do you have an assigned seat number on the train? If you do then that means you have a reservation and you do NOT need to validate your ticket.

Hello Tim, yes I have assigned seats for me and my family. Thank you so much, this is very helpful. I wasn't sure because I didn't see any info on it on the website or on my email. OK, so we just have to get on board the train, very cool. Thanks again Tim.

Any ticket purchase via the internet, including Regionale tickets, does not need to be validated. Cannot stick all that paper into a validating machine. And this is the main reason for discouraging the purchase of Regionale tickets on line. As mentioned the ticket is specific to a train and time. Miss it and the ticket is dead.
