I am sooo confused. What ticket do I buy and from where to just go to Paris from Amsterdam then back. That is the only time we will be riding a train.
The Amsterdam-Paris route is served by Thalys trains. If you book far enough in advance (up to 90 days allowed) at www.thalys.com, you may be able to get Smilys return (roundtrip) fares. You print Smilys tickets yourself. To get the site to stay in English, choose France and English even though you'll be departing from Amsterdam. Book as soon as the 90-day window opens to have any chance of getting Smilys fares. Otherwise, simply go to the Amsterdam Centraal station and buy either Mezzo or Mezzo+ return fares. (Mezzo+ is cheaper.)
