On travel.state.gov that there will(maybe?) be a train strike in Italy on Oct 10th 9PM to Oct 11th 9PM. Anyone heard anything about this? I will be needing the train on the Oct. 11th date to the Civitavecchia port.

Thanks Lee...good site to look at, however they refer to coverage during peak times Monday to Saturday and this strike as it was indicated is for a Sunday so I am not sure it applies?
Looks like someone just wants "Sunday" off!??
Anyone else have any feed back?

I have confirmed with RON in ROME that there is a strike on Sunday Oct. 11th and the trains to the port will not be running "unless" the strike is cancelled.
Anyone interested in a "share" shuttle to Civitavecchia port?

Hi BJ, I've never been to Civitavecchia so am not at all familiar with the area but one thing I would consider would be cancelling my hotel in Rome for the last night and finding one in Civitavecchia--making sure of course that I caught the train before 9pm on the 10th! I realize it might be disappointing to not have that last night in Rome but this could be a way around the hassles of a strike.
