Train seats

We will be traveling Frecciargento 9434 : From: Firenze S. M. Novella To: Venezia S. Lucia first class and have the option of being assigned seats or choosing our own. The seats that they want to assign us are 11D and 12D. We would like to sit together and from the picture on the website I can't tell if these seats are facing each other or are one behind the other. https://www.lefrecce.it/B2CWeb/seatSelect.do?method=viewSeatSelection&jSessionID=0UsC99SUOkYe Is anyone familiar with the first class seating on these trains? Also if I book these tickets now and we need to change them, will I be able to do so without penalty? Any info you can share would be greatly appreciated! Thanks,
ko

I checked that train diagram and 11 D and 12 D are facing each other with a small table in between.

There will be so few people in first class that you can easily move around. If you pay base fare (full fare) then you can change with no penalty. Super economy is absolutely no change. Economy can be exchange for new tickets but must pay difference in fare.

The seating charts I saw for Le Frecce 9434 going to Venice showed seats 11D and 12D facing each other across a table. If you prefer side by side, it is easy to choose side-by -side seats on the other side of the aisle. I would not count on being able to move, as the times we rode in First Class on Le Frecce trains, they were full enough that it would have been difficult to move to different seats.

Can you resist not sitting next to each other for two hours? You can still play footsie under the table!
