Train seat reservations, Italy

What do you have? A seat reservation to go with a rail pass? Or a ticket with a seat reservation? If the latter, was it a full fare ticket or an advance purchase discount ticket? From whom did you get purchase? Tentialia or Rail Europe?

Assuming you bought the reservations from Rail Europe, look at the Rail Europe website. It says that reservations from them are non-exchangeable, but they are refundable at 80% up to train time, but you probably have to do it now, before you leave, through them. You can then purchase new reservations from them. Contact them now for your refund. In addition to the 20% penalty, there might be some restocking fees.

After you get your refund, don't buy your new reservations from Rail Europe. Just buy your seat reservations in Rome for €10.00. Trenitalia doesn't limit the number of seats it allocates for passholders.
